Ask away

Everything people ask us.

Shots, cancellations, what’s in a bath and why the haircut doesn’t have a price on it. If yours isn’t here, ring your location.

Before the first visit

All dogs must be up to date on shots before checking in: Bordetella, Rabies and Distemper. Bring your shot records in for us to put into the system, or have your vet email them across.

Four months or older. Younger than that and we’d rather see you for a bath or a groom first.

For daycare, boarding and bathing, yes — those are booked online through the client portal, and new clients set one up on the first visit. A grooming request through this site needs nothing at all; we’ll ring you back.

Booking

Grooming and training are booked with the specific location holding the appointment. Use the booking flow on this site and we’ll call you back to confirm, or ring the location directly — every number is on the locations page.

Yes. All services must be booked in advance — including daycare. It keeps the yards balanced and the groomers’ days sane.

Cancellations need to be made at least 24 hours before the reservation date. Extenuating circumstances around illness and travel changes are looked at case by case. You can cancel online through your profile, or over the phone with the location holding your reservation.

No-shows and late cancellations for grooming carry a flat $50 fee. Grooming slots are long and very hard to refill at short notice.

Grooming & baths

Every bath includes our luxury shampoo, ear cleaning, a nail trim and anal gland expression. None of that is an extra.

By coat and weight — short or long hair, then your dog’s weight band. The booking flow does the maths for you once you pick a location, since rates differ slightly between them.

Because it honestly depends. Coat type, condition, matting and the cut you want all change the time it takes, so your groomer prices it at drop-off rather than guessing online.

Yes. We handle extra brush-outs, mat removal, and flea and tick removal. Mention it when you book so we can leave enough time in the slot.

We bathe them. Feline baths include a nail trim and ear cleaning — $32 short hair and $34 long hair in Birmingham, a little less in Auburn.

If they board six nights or more, yes — the bath is on us.

Daycare & lodging

Most dogs are instinctively social, which is why open play is built into the daily routine. It makes them more comfortable around dogs and people, keeps them fit, reinforces positive behaviour so there’s less mischief at home — and they make friends.

4 ft by 12 ft, which is roomier than most kennels. If your dog isn’t in daycare, they go on three walks a day for fresh air outside.

Glass doors, a window view and a mounted TV. The Downtown location also has the Library Luxury Suite at the same rate.

Yes, if they share. Multiple dogs in the same run save $7.50 each and cats $3 — they must board in the same run to qualify. In Huntsville, dogs rooming together save $5 each per night. In the Roosevelt Suite at Vestavia, two or more dogs together receive 20% off the lodging price.

Yes — $2 per administration for two or fewer medications, $4 per administration for three or more. From 4 April 2026 we no longer administer insulin.

Getting there

We can. We’ll come to your house, collect your pet and bring them home again at an affordable price — just call to schedule it. Not available Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Please do. Kennel tours at Vestavia Hills run from 10am to 3pm — give us a call or simply come in.

No — none of our locations accept checks.

Still stuck? Every location has its own number and email — they know their own book best.
